This is Tyler Cunningham about the Industrial Revolution. I was there when everything happened, and now I’m going to tell you about it. It first started in Great Britain, during the 18th century. After its adoption in England, other countries such as the United States, Germany, and France joined in as well.
While this thing was going on, there biggest advancements were in steam power. All kinds of new fuels such as petroleum and coal were incorporated into all the new steam engines. This revolutionized many industries containing textiles and manufacturing. At this time something new was just invented called the telegraph, which made communicating across the ocean much easier.
It helped many people in the world because the factories could get things done faster and they had more jobs. Although the jobs were very dangerous to work in, people still needed employment, so that’s what they done.
The most important advance of this time occurred in 1784 when Englishman Henry Cort invented new techniques for rolling raw iron. Not to long after that a finishing process was formed. They could shape the iron into any shape they wanted. They made iron be used in many new ways, such as building heavy machines. Which it worked good for that because iron was very strong. Another great thing it was used for was railroad tracks.
I seen that the Industrial Revolution helped the world in many ways over the years. If we didn’t have that, who knows what it would be like today. It really helped with iron and made stuff out of coal. I think the Industrial Revolution was a big step in history.
